Self catering holiday accommodation near Fistral Beach, Pentire, Newquay, Cornwall, England.
Local Amenities
- Within a Couple of Minutes Walk: a post office, a small grocery store/off-licence and several hotels offering meals to nonresidents.
- Within a Couple of Minutes Drive: a Spar convenience shop, Somerfields supermarket,
- Eating Out: There are plenty of places to choose from. My favourites are Lewinnick Lodge, on Pentire Headland, Fistral Blu, in the brand new Surfing Centre on Fistral Beach, If you fancy treating yourselves to a meal, the Headland Hotel is only on the other side of Fistral Beach. Here's what the Headland Hotel say about themselves:
| "Dine
at sunset as the golden glow illuminates the spectacular panoramic views over
Fistral Bay. The evening menu is delicious and the surroundings elegant and genteel." |
Of course, no-one can visit Cornwall without indulging in a delicious oven-fresh warm Cornish Pasty! Mmmm! I can smell them now. We buy ours from the little off-licence at the beginning of Pentire Avenue. In my opinion, they are best eaten outside in the fresh air, after you have worked up an appetite on one of the many nearby coastal walks. (Keep it under your hat, but the best place to take a break is at the tip of Pentire Headland.)
Newquay is a great base from which to explore the rest of Cornwall as it is central to all of the famous towns and attractions in Cornwall. For ideas of things to do futher afield in Cornwall click here.
